DID YOU KNOW?All members and co-workers are to have their valid membership card on them at all times when visiting the Lodge!! All guests must be signed in. Non renewal of dues according to Section 30.5 of the General Laws: "You have 12 months to renew your membership from your expiration date before you are dropped as a member." Members & Co-Workers who have expired cards will not be entitled to any privileges of membership involving: 1) Enjoying privileges of any social quarters. 2) Attending meetings or social functions. 3) Participating in any Fraternal gatherings or activities. You must renew your dues on or before your expiration date located on the bottom right corner of your membership card. Please take the time now to find your card and check the expiration date. THANK-YOU! It has been awhile since we have had a newsletter but we wanted to catch you all up on the happenings at the Lodge!! This summer's Lodge Picnic in August was a huge success, we can hardly wait for next year. The Lodge has a "Moose Droppings II" bulletin board that is in the Social Quarters. Check it out every time you come in for upcoming events and special news items. MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL Join us every Monday night to watch the football game. Members are donating: Hot dogs; Pizza; Chips n Dip; Homemade Chilli; Thank-you to the Carlins, Julie, Nick and Andy so far for feeding all of us during the games. If you haven't had Andy's homemade Chilli, you gotta try it, it is great!! BARTENDER OF THE MONTH!! Willie O'Brien QUESTION OF THE MONTH Willie 0' went to the conference in Palmer. If Willie 0' was in Palmer, and he lost his glasses, how did his glasses end up in Sitka???? All inquiries should be directed to Willie 0'!!! WOTM CORNER From the Sr. Regent, Julie Wills I attended the annual Alaska/Hawaii Moose Conference in Palmer this month. Truly it was a wonderful experience and one that I wish each and every one of you have an opportunity to go to at some time. I learned so many new things that are so exciting and great new ideas for fund raisers to help build upon what we all have worked so hard for the last year and a half Please take the time to join us at the meetings the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month. Meetings start @ 6:30 P.M. Please join us. At October's Business meeting, I will be talking about all the fun things I learned at conference_ We had our 2"d annual WOTM campout at Ward Lake and it was so much fun. Please join us next year for the 3rd annual in June. |
NOVEMBER 27TH is THANKSGIVING Please join us for our traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Turkey dinner will be served from 4 PM to 6 PM. The Lodge needs volunteers to cook the turkey. Please see the sign up list for Volunteers to cook and to bring side dishes. As always, this dinner is to Thank all of you for being members and is donated by the LOOM. Open from 12 PM and closing at 10 PM. LAST OCTOBER WAS NATIONAL DRUG AWARENESS MONTH The WOTM sponsored their 2nd annual Drug Awareness Campaign for all Ketchikan 5th Grade Students. This years' slogan was: "Drugs, What are They Good For, Absolutely Nothing! !" KFMJ is donated their time and recording equipment to record the 5th grade winning class, singing the jingle. The winning class received a T-Shirt with all the Moose sponsors who have donated money to this campaign. And to our sponsors who will be recognized in an upcoming newsletter. THANK-YOU

Letter from the Governor, Greg Cobbs First and foremost I would like
to Thank all employees and especially the volunteers that helped make
this summer at the Lodge so successful. As the weather begins to get
colder and wetter it reminds us that winter is upon us. With this in
mind one of my main goals is to get the inside of the Lodge cleaned up
and looking better. I am calling on all Brothers and Co-Workers to
volunteer and help me accomplish this goal. Please contact me or Willie
0; about this project or any ideas that you may have to make the Lodge
and Social Quarters more enticing.

The WOTM will begin the 50/50 drawings soon and all donations will go to the "GIMME FIVE" national campaign for donations to maintain both Moose Heart and Moose Haven.
